Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is provided to youth who engage in impulsive, aggressive, self-injuring or suicidal behavior. The
youth and their therapeutic foster family are assigned to a DBT coach and they
learn new skills while participating in the DBT skills group.
REQUIREMENTS FOR FOSTERING…

At least 21 years old
v
High school diploma or equivalent
v
Three favorable references
v
Automobile and car insurance
v
Financially stable
v
One adult who does not work outside the home (for full-time fostering)
v
36 hours of training to begin
v
Criminal history check for all adult household members
v
No confirmed history of child abuse, neglect or abandonment
v
Medical exam for all household members
v
Extensive in-home interviews
v
Safe home with adequate space for the addition of a child
