Hillside School

Our School

The Hillside Conant School is a place of encouragement and enthusiasm. It houses ten classrooms, the Dorothy Cohen Library, a computer lab, and administrative offices.

Our school is accredited through SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) and SAIS (Southern Association of Independent Schools) and is associated with Atlanta Public Schools.

We have 9 Special Education teachers, a General Education teacher, and an Art teacher who are here to use their creative teaching methods. Most of the children who live here have entered our program at grade levels lower than they should be. Our teachers face the challenge of catching them up and encouraging them to move forward with their education.

Additional educational opportunities for our kids include Speech/Language and Occupational Therapy, Art classes, Music classes, use of our computer lab, and checking out books from our library.

We also have an association with Georgia State University for researching and providing services appropriate for children with learning disabilities and behavioral challenges. Children are also offered Physical Education classes and Life Skills classes.

Hillside is in need of new books for our library, classrooms, and cottages. Click to view books and other items on the wish list. Encouraging our children to read is one of the most important things we can do.
