Of course kids
love to play in the dirt, but we have found that gardening
also teaches discipline, responsibility and environmental
awareness, and fosters a deeper understanding of nature's
rhythms. The children get a special thrill watching
"their" plant grow. Members of the Kiwanis
club of Metropolitan Atlanta frequently visit campus to
help our young gardeners clear the beds of the past
season's foliage (and, of course, weeds), and plant the
next season's herbs, vegetables and flowers. |
